Exit Interview Episode 8/Week 7 – Chris Noble

Exit Interview with Survivor Chris Noble.

RYAN: Chris can you describe to me what happened last night.

CHRIS: I definitely think it’s fair to say that I was blindsided, I definitely went home with an Idol. I don’t regret not playing the idol. I was thinking big picture and if there was any tribal I think I was going to survive which the chances really evolved after the merge which are pretty slim, it probably would be that one, because as the number shrink I become more and more and more of a threat.  So I took my chances but it did not work out. The biggest thing for me was I shouldn’t have made that mistake at the water well which I did. If I could change something, i’d change that, but it is what it is.

Why do you consider that a mistake?

Let me just state that I did not just bring them over there. Wendell and Dom tried to make out like it was a dictatorship, man all these grown people can make their own decisions and go wherever they want. I didn’t tell anyone to come with me to the water well. I asked two people Angela and Des my two, Day 1 (allies) if they wanted to go get water and they said yes. It’s not my problem that everyone else followed except for Dom and Wendall.  So I got voted out and I made a poor decision out of frustration. I felt like a lot of people out there were trying to get onto another episode or out there for a vacation, sipping on Mimosas and drinking Pina Coladas instead of playing the game. I mean think about it, anyone who knows the game of Survivor and I’ll be the first to admit there are people who know the game of Survivor way more than me out there. I thought it was insane that people did not realise that Dom was a mixture of all these great players we’ve had in the past like Boston Rob and Tony. I couldn’t understand for the life of me why people were not trying to get him out,  let alone he was in a power couple with someone who is pretty damn good to in Wendell.

You talk about not having any regrets about not playing the Idol, did you tell anyone about having the Idol before tribal council?

I had actually told Angela specifically right before so there wasn’t any chances for mouth opening and stuff like that. Just because I needed someone that I trusted and somebody who could give me good insight. I just thought Angela, she had been my number one and I told her if you think that I’m going home I will use the Idol and we will be all okay.  She told me look I think we’re voting Libby. I think that’s what some people want to do. She also told me that they are going to gun for you at the next tribal. So they were some of the decisions that I had to base it off of. What wasn’t shown was, I went to Sebastian and Donathan individually and a couple of other people and they lied to me I asked them like, “Hey do you think that this plan is the right plan or do you think we should go another route?” They said I think your plan is right let’s do it and they all lied to me so hopefully that gives you some insight. I did speak to people individually, I was lied to, it is part of the game I get it obviously. I can still be a little bit bitter about. You know we are all competitive and some of us did share some really sentimental stuff and have moments together out there but you know it’s all part of the game.

It seemed almost instantly that you and Dominic did not get along , what was it about Dominic that led to that relationship never being mended and coming back together.

I think we both had these reads on each other before the game even started and then with the way the game started with him outing me and what not, it just kind of put that into motion. Even when we tried to talk he would lie to me, when I asked him a simple question and it just lead to a relationship that had a boiling point and even when him and Wendell wanted to have a peace Treaty I was way past the point of no return with Dom.  I knew ultimately that if I entered that with them I’m at the bottom of their little relationship and I’m at the mercy of their power and I’m not going to be there puppet. I just could not trust them. I didn’t know where they wanted to go with that and then asking me which Malolo I wanted to do, I just thought if I told them or gave them insight on my strategy that they would just try and out me and spin it on people. I couldn’t let that happen!

At the last  swap you seemed to reconnect with Wendell, but we see in this episode he went right back to Dominic and then when he voted for you fairly harshly in the way that he is coming across. What did you think about that tribal vote from Wendell?

I thought that that was classless. A lot of people don’t realise that we competed with each other and alongside each other and won, That did bring us some respect and closeness to each other and a lot of people don’t know that at Yanuya, the night before we won that last challenge it rained all night and basically Wendell and I cuddled man,  we had to take care of each other and that brings people close together from all necks of the woods. I even said in the tribal look I get your frustration you know we are battling alright, but when he says the things that he said it wasn’t just what he said, or how he said it and about me rapping like, I never even claimed that I was a good rapper! It was like he was bitter. There was something deep inside him and I just thought it was classless.  The way Dom and I handled it was classy. We both hated each other, really hated each other. But if we had the courage and the character to end it like that he could have too. I have a good relationship outside of here, you know we haven’t talked about it but we’ll see how it all that goes. I didn’t think it was a very good way to go out.

It  would  be remiss of me not to ask you about your Ponderosa video which may go down as one of the greatest Ponderosa videos of all time. Can you talk about the filming of your rap and how that came about?

Two guys James and Ryan did a fantastic job. They were the editors filming and we all sat together and came up with some things creatively. So first and foremost they deserve a lot of praise for it. I wrote the lyrics and then we sat down, game planned,  we only had around 4 to 5 hours and we got it done. It ended up being amazing, look I didn’t do this because I thought I was a fantastic rapper, I did this because I am an entertainer. I want people to laugh. I know that I’m not trying to be someone I’m not. That’s the point I want people to dream big. Who would have thought some dude like me would go out out here on Survivor, do a rap video. Some people love it they get it and if you listen to the lyrics and read it, there is actually a story being told.

Thank you so much for coming on and chatting today, I hope we see you on Twitter sometime soon and I hope you get that second chance.

I appreciate the love and I appreciate you guys seeing the fun part of me in the game and I’m sending my love out to Aussie land.
